September 26: Volunteers needed for landscape clean-up at the Oak Hills playground!

9/24/2015

Date/Time: Saturday Sept 26th 8-11am

What to wear: safety glasses, heavy gloves, long sleeves

What to bring: pruning loppers and hand saws if you have them, and a couple of wheelbarrows and rakes would be handy also.

Project: Landscape clean up near the Rec Center playground.  Branches from several dead/dying pine trees will be disposed in a drop box at the Rec Center parking lot, along with wild holly, barberry, and pyracantha (nasty thorns - not a small-child-friendly project!).  For safety, trees will be felled prior to the event, so it's mostly hauling branches, and trimming them to pack efficiently in the drop box.

September 13: Doggie Dive

9/13/2015

For years we have been trying to get Mark to let us have a Doggie Dive at the pool. The answer has always been a quick “No Way” due the expense of draining and refilling the pool.  But the pool being drained for demolition gives us the perfect opportunity to have this ONE TIME fun event! For the dogs safety, we will partially drain the pool so the dogs can safely exit at the shallow end but still have lots of room to fetch balls and take a dip.  We will take turns and only allow 3 dogs at a time in the water.  We have never done this before and likely wont have the chance to do it again so come one come all to the one and only DOGGIE DIVE!  $20.00 rec center donation will be collected at the door.
