The Oak Hills Swim Team has been active for nearly 40 years! Hundreds of swimmers have learned to swim and competed under the Oak Hills Recreation Program, establishing itself as one of the hallmarks of the Oak Hills neighborhood.
In previous years, the Oak Hills Swim Team has participated in the Metro Portland Summer Swim League. This year will exciting as most of the teams are starting their teams again! We will offer swimmers the opportunity to learn more about the essential four strokes, get great exercise for an hour each day, and most importantly have fun with their friends throughout the summer. Swim Team registration is open to all Oak Hills residents and their families. Registration is also open to swimmers from outside Oak Hills if they are sponsored by a resident. Team size is limited and priority is given to Oak Hills residents.

All swimmers must be able to demonstrate proficiency in two different competitive strokes, each for two lengths of our pool. We welcome all qualified swimmers whether they choose to compete on swim meets or just attend practice. All Parents are booster group members and volunteer hours are required but fun. MEET OUR HEAD COACH
It’s hard for me to express how excited I am for this opportunity. Since the last day of being assistant coach last summer I have been looking forward to coming back to continue coaching this wonderful team. A little bit about me, I have lived in Oak Hills ever since I was 2 years old and absolutely love this neighborhood. The pool in particular has always held a special place in my heart as I grew up with every summer vacation revolving around it. As a kid I swam on the Oak Hills swim team all the way through middle school. Once the pool was remodeled I began lifeguarding and teaching swim lessons until last year when I became an assistant coach. I know what this program and pool mean to this neighborhood and I am honored to be able to play such an integral role. The focus this season will be the same as all the past seasons: to work hard, improve, and have fun. Me and my two amazing assistant coaches Abby Matousek and Abby Marshall are all experienced swimmers and swim lesson teachers. We recognize the trust that you all put in us to coach your kids so we will work hard to be the best coaching staff we can and provide another great summer for the Oak Hills Swim Team! |
